Leonardo and the Animated Universe by Prof Martin Kemp

The exhibition highlights Leonardo’s remarkable vision of motion in continuous space and of the operation of dynamic force in Nature.  This lecture will highlight the way that Leonardo moved away from static modes of representation, using a wide variety of new visual techniques across the whole of his activities in art, science and technology. It will include actual animations of Leonardo’s drawings.

Martin Kemp FBA is Emeritus Professor in the History of Art at Trinity College, University of Oxford.

Places are strictly limited and booking is essential.  All talks are free, but normal entry charges apply.
