Leonardo and the Art of Invention by Dr Matthew Landrus
Discussing Leonardo’s career as artist-engineer and the discoveries he made in his ‘book on useful inventions’, this illuminating talk will focus on mechanics and ingenuity. Dr Landrus will also examine a number of Leonardo’s approaches in the exhibition, including the impressive use of the metal stylus and other media that will encourage visitors to look more closely at the works on display.
Dr Matthew Landrus is Research Fellow at Wolfson College & Faculty of History, University of Oxford.
