About the Trust
Nottingham Castle Trust is an independent, not for-profit charitable trust
The Trust is a self-sustaining charity which generates its income through the support of visitors, donors and volunteers. All income goes directly towards education, upkeep, preservation and improvement of the Castle, collections and landscape for the long-term benefit of visitors. We are also committed to using a proportion of this income to increase the diversity of our visitors, especially local audiences which are currently less engaged in arts, culture and heritage.

Fundraising and programmes
Nottingham Castle Trust has supported the re-development and the castle site, from the Caves to the Ducal Mansion. We have worked to raise the final £3 million needed to complete the £30 million Castle Redevelopment Project and to make the castle a world-class visitor attraction. All monies raised are held by an independent Trust, Nottingham Castle Foundation, and can only be used to support the castle site.
As well as fundraising, the Trust supports education programmes, open days, lectures and talks, as well as many other visitor activities.
Our Patrons
Our Patrons are committed to helping us preserve our cultural and historic heritage so that visitors can enjoy it for generations to come.
Our Trustees
Our Trustees set the strategic direction for the Trust and are central to ensuring the views of the public and civil society which inform all Trust activities.
