The National Literacy Trust in Nottingham works to create a culture of reading and raise literacy levels across the city. Through partnerships with schools, families, and local organisations, the charity empowers communities with the life-changing benefits of literacy.
Castle Story Builders is an event pioneered by the charity’s Literacy Champion volunteers, designed to inspire a love of reading, writing, speaking, and listening.

In line with the National Year of Reading 2026, the National Literacy Trust in Nottingham is encouraging more people to (re)discover the joy of reading and make it part of everyday life.
