HISTORY AT YOUR FINGERTIPS
28 March to 12 April 2026 – Temporary Exhibitions, Gallery 4

Access Artefacts is the handling collection for Nottingham City Museums and Galleries. It brings together thousands of real objects from across social history, archaeology, geology, industrial history and the natural sciences. The service is available to both schools and community groups.
With more than 11,000 artefacts available to borrow, it is one of the most extensive heritage and learning resources in the country.
During this school break, we are offering a special pop‑up display where you can explore a selection of these fascinating items. Choose a loan box by theme or pick one at random, and a member of our team will guide you through what you discover.
All the objects you will see are genuine pieces of our shared human story.
Experience what it might be like to be an archaeologist or museum curator!
You are encouraged to dive in, explore, touch, handle and investigate them so you can better understand where they come from and how they might once have been used.
This is a special display exclusively for the Easter holidays.

For more information about our Access Artefacts resources, we have a dedicated webpage for further information.
