Job opportunities at Nottingham Castle for people aged between 16 and 24
Ahead of our reopening in the summer, we’re delighted to announce that Nottingham Castle is offering a number of exciting opportunities to work in five different roles in various departments at the newly restored Castle. The roles are varied and range from welcoming our visitors to working in administration, and are being made available through the Department of Work & Pensions Kickstart Scheme.
What is the Kickstart Scheme?
The Kickstart Scheme provides new job placements for 16 to 24 year olds on Universal Credit. The placements are for a minimum of 25 hours a week for a total of 6 months and they are paid at the National Minimum Wage/National Living Wage (18 – 20yrs: £6.56; 21 – 22yrs: £8.36; 23+: £8.91).
What roles are on offer?
We are offering the following roles as part of the Kickstart Scheme:
- Visitor Hosts: Visitor Hosts ensure that all our visitors have an amazing visit by delivering gold standard customer service, whether in our Visitor Centre of in the Ducal Palace. We will show you how to deliver gold standard customer service, and provide you with key knowledge of the heritage sector. Other training will be provided on an adhoc basis, including basic Makaton training, Disability Awareness, Mental Health First Aid and First Aid.
What support will you provide as part of the role?
As well as job specific training, we will also provide support in looking for long-term work.
