For Teachers: CPD and Training
Working with inspirational class teachers is what Learning is all about
At Nottingham Castle we think you can learn from us and we know we can learn from you.
Teachers can join our Teacher’s Network for exclusive opportunities for you and your school or take part in our CPD sessions, including the popular Take One… programme which will return when the castle reopens.
Our range of programmes
Learn new skills by taking part in our specialised sessions that use the stories and objects of Nottingham Castle to enhance your teaching practice.
Join the Teacher Network to:
- Develop better knowledge of the support that Nottingham Castle and its partners can provide you with as a teacher.
- Be the first to hear about special offers for schools, no cost/low cost opportunities and teacher CPD.
- Work in collaboration with us to design new learning resources for your students through co-creation, piloting and evaluation.
- Be part of a professional community that shares ideas and best practice with peers and colleagues.
You can also join our teacher subject working groups and explore History, Art and Design, Literacy and British Values-Citizenship learning with peers, students and members of the Nottingham Castle team.

We offer a range of CPD opportunities at the castle, many free of charge, with regular twilight sessions to support teachers in developing skills and confidence. These include teaching outside the classroom and leading visits, developing subject knowledge and techniques, and helping you enrich your teaching in the classroom.
