Our range of programmes
Craft, Creativity & Curiosities: The Nottingham Castle Daily Art Tour
Every day, visitors can join a member of the castle team as they explore what inspires and informs artists’ and makers’ practices and work. They’ll pick out some of their favourite pieces to discuss as a group and highlight works and objects that you might not dwell on without knowing and exploring the hidden stories behind the works.
Discover a hand-picked selection of works spanning from medieval alabaster to modern art in this fun, informal and informative tour.
Monthly Talks and Meet-Ups
Join us each month for an in-focus session looking at a specific object, event or character from the castle’s dazzling collection or its storied past. Led by curators, academics and local experts, these sessions will give participants a fantastic snapshot of the subject and some behind-the-scenes peeks from the session leader. We’ll also be able to discuss the session afterwards in a facilitated chat in the Terrace Café.
All courses run during term time and there are no sessions during school half terms. All Nottingham Castle Monthly Talks are entry level and no experience is necessary – all are welcome.
We regularly host events for all learners on top of our art tours and monthly talks. See behind the exhibits with evening events, book launches and historic anniversary celebrations, which dig deeper into the rich collections and characters of Nottingham Castle.
