Explore the foundations of the medieval castle from dire dungeons to wonderous wine cellars – hear the stories of Nottingham during the time of Robin Hood and in the underground spaces where they actually happened!

Learning Aims

  • Understand Nottingham Castle’s role as a place of historic and national importance
  • Be immersed in the stories of the castle, in the locations where they happened
  • Understand how we know about events in the past and learn to question sources of evidence

Curriculum links

  • Significant historical events, people and places in their own locality
  • Study of an aspect of history or a site dating that is significant in the locality
  • Participate in discussions, presentations, performances, role play/improvisations and debates
  • Actively promoting fundamental British values
