Session overview:
Take part in a Medieval Christmas Celebration at Nottingham Castle.
Be transported back in time, 800 years to 1194 and help the Castle servants prepare for a great Winter feast through storytelling, sensory exploration, roleplay and object handling.
Discover the sounds and smells of a Medieval Castle festival…..
This day also includes a visit to Brewhouse Yard’s Christmas through time tour.
Learning objectives:
- To understand what Christmas celebrations were like in medieval times.
- To explore how people celebrated Christmas in the past.
- To compare medieval traditions with today.
- To understand Nottingham Castle’s medieval history.
Cost: £10 per head, includes Museum Entry, Lunch room and bag storage.
Session duration Medieval Christmas session: 1.5 hours 10.30-12 or 1-2.30
