Meet the Makers: A Conversation with Hannah Quigley of Hannah Quigley Ceramics
Now that the festive period is in full swing, we thought it high time we introduce you to some of the brilliant Makers that stock the Nottingham Castle Shop. This week, we’re speaking to Hannah of Hannah Quigley Ceramics. Read on to find out more…

Tell us a bit about yourselves! What is your name, and what do you sell?
My name is Hannah Quigley and I am the proud owner of Hannah Quigley Ceramics. I sell wheel thrown homeware and tableware from my studio in Nottingham.
What would you recommend as the perfect luxury gift from your range?
I would have to say that my favourite item for a gift would be my wax burner, which will leave your house smelling beautiful!
What would you recommend as the perfect stocking filler from your range?
One of my mugs is the perfect gift for anyone. They are lovely, hand-warming mugs, and I make them with the intention that they can be held all the way round. The handles are designed so that you can fit three or four fingers in them, reducing spillages and wrist strain.
What is your favourite thing about working with Nottingham Castle?
I love that the Castle Shop collaborates with local artists and makers to promote the area in which they are based. I have visited Nottingham castle since I was a child, so it means a lot to have my work shown there.
Finally, what is your favourite Christmas tipple?
You simply cannot beat a classic Snowball with a cherry!
