Our Museum & grounds are open every day, including school & bank holidays. (excluding Christmas, Boxing Day & New Years Day).
We operate in line with Nottingham city school holidays.

The cave tour ticket is an optional ADD ON ticket, in addition to the Castle & Grounds Admission ticket that must be purchased to visit the site.

Inside the Ducal Palace there are a range of galleries & exhibitions to inspire all ages about the History of Nottingham. This includes: The Nottingham Lace Gallery, the Craft Gallery, Museum & Art collections in the Long Gallery, the Museum of the Mercian Regiment, the Rebellion Gallery and the Robin Hood Adventures, which contains interactive & immersive displays.
In the visitor centre, our team are on hand to assist with your admission to the Castle. Inside the shop & café there are a range of options for you to refuel with seating available. The visitor centre is located on arrival to the Nottingham Castle.
Fun in the Castle! Children will love to swing, slide, climb, jump and play through our historical amazing creative timber play structures.

The Castle is within walking distance of the city’s train station and is just five minutes’ walk from Nottingham’s central Old Market Square. The city also has a fantastic, eco-friendly public transport system, so getting here is simple, however you choose to travel.

We do not allow drone flying at any time over Nottingham Castle except by contractors commissioned by Nottingham City Council for a specific purpose, who satisfy stringent CAA criteria, have the correct insurances and are operating under controlled conditions.
Photography for commercial purposes in the Castle & Grounds (e.g Wedding photography) is only permitted when booked in advance. Contact us.
