Family Fun at the Castle

Join us this summer at Nottingham Castle for some great family fun!  

Take a look at the events we have coming up below and head to the Ducal Palace for craft activities too. Keep an eye on our Facebook page as we’ll announce our story telling sessions each week!

All activities listed below are included with your general admissions tickets – which also give you free returns for 12 months so you don’t have to miss out on anything!

Sunday 7 August
Come and meet the legendary hero of Nottingham Robin Hood @EzekialBone and hear ‘The Story of Nottingham Castle’.

Wednesday 10 August
Join Black Knight Historical on the Middle Bailey with some feathered friends! Come along and find out about the medieval arts of Falconry and Hawking, and have your photo taken with one of our raptors.

We also have some medieval characters around on that day and hopefully Knights in armour fighting for your entertainment (if not too hot!). Plus the usual arms and armour displays, try on a real helmet and hold a really sharp sword!

Sunday 14 August
Robin Hood is back. Come and meet the legendary hero of Nottingham Robin Hood @EzekialBone and hear ‘The Story of Nottingham Castle’. 

Wednesday 17 August
Come and visit Black Knight Historical camped near the Bandstand as they prepare for their English Civil War event at the weekend.

There will be opportunities for children to have a go with our interactive Pike and Musket game, and we will be shooting a real musket at different times through the day, with explanations on how these firearms work and the making of gunpowder.
